4-year blueprint for Bahrain’s future outlined

A new four-year blueprint for Bahrain's future was outlined yesterday (December 8).

Housing, health, jobs, equal opportunities and social development top the list, Cabinet members heard, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa expressed pride in His Majesty King Hamad's trust in the new Cabinet.

He congratulated the Cabinet members and thanked the outgoing members for their efforts and contributions.

The Premier was speaking as he chaired yesterday's session at Gudaibiya Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

The Premier outlined the government's work strategy, basic priorities and mechanisms for the future.

He directed to prepare a blueprint for the next four years, stressing that it should focus on achieving citizens' aspirations for a more prosperous future and continue implementing comprehensive development and social plans.

He said that the new work plan will be implemented according to clear programmes that upgrade education and health care, provide decent housing for citizens, create job opportunities for youth, ensure optimal use of state resources, diversification of revenues and rationalisation of government spending and spur economic growth.

All this will be accomplished in a positive investment climate and secure and stable atmosphere that consolidate transparency, fairness and equal opportunities for all.

Cabinet secretary-general Dr Yasser Al Nasser said the Premier also called for 'serious and fruitful' co-operation between the executive and the legislative branches. - TradeArabia News Service
