Fake notes fears allayed in Bahrain

Manama, February 27, 2014

Fears that counterfeit bank notes are in circulation have been allayed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).

It issued a statement yesterday in response to public concern about the “soundness of notes” in the system, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Images of fakes “were circulated on social media networks and detected by counting and sorting machines at banks. They are photocopies of low quality and of limited number”.

The CBB said that there are no counterfeit Bahraini dinar notes in circulation. - TradeArabia News Service
