Citi Bahrain launches alumni network

Manama, January 13, 2014

Citi Bahrain has launched the Citi alumni network in the kingdom.

The global electronic platform connects thousands of its former employees across the globe allowing them to remain in touch with news at Citi, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

During the launch, held at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa, the '2013 Citi Distinguished Alumni Award' in the 'leadership and ingenuity' category was presented to Mohammed Al Shroogi, the Gulf business president of Investcorp.

Al Shroogi began his career at Citi in the treasury department and left Citi after more than 30 years as chief executive for the Middle East.

The award was in recognition of his dedication, commitment, innovative approach to business and community service, leadership skills, and successful management of the team.

"The Citi Alumni Network is one of the bank's initiatives to recognise the contributions of alumni who have progressed to achieve great success in various fields, not only in the financial services industry but other sectors too," Citi Bahrain chief executive Mazin Manna said.

"Citi is proud of the distinguished alumni that are now recognised business, financial, economic, and community leaders.

"We wanted to thank and honour them for their contribution to Citi."

It is open to all alumni who worked at Citi for at least two years. More than 100 former and current employees of Citi Bahrain attended the event. - TradeArabia News Service
