NBAD enhances mobile application
Abu Dhabi, March 17, 2012
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), a leading bank in the UAE, has re-launched its mobile phone application, offers customers facilities such as remittance transactions and utility bill payments, among others.
The free mobile app will also allow customers to make donations and view all their accounts using their device.
NBAD mobile application has a special and unique feature allowing consumers to send money to themselves, which allows withdrawal of cash at an ATM without a card but by using a PIN that is sent to the accountholder by SMS.
“The new NBAD mobile app extends our superior services to iPhone users and since NBAD is the first to allow international remittances, it is unique in the market,” said Ahmed Al Naqbi, head of Direct Banking &E Development at NBAD.
“It was imperative to enhance NBAD Mobile Apps as iPhone penetration rises in the country and NBAD is committed to remain in the forefront of offering the latest and most advanced technological services to customers.”
The UAE has one of the highest mobile penetrations standing at nearly 200 per cent. Smart Phone penetration is more than 15 per cent and expected to rise to nearly 30 per cent by 2015.
NBAD mobile application is a secure service that allows consumers to access their account with a secure password, Al Naqbi added.
The app service also allows remittances through NBAD’s partner MoneyGram. The remittance feature allows consumers to remit internationally to anyone worldwide where receivers can cash out the money from any of the 277,000 MoneyGram agents located in 190 countries within 10 minutes.
“NBAD continues to meet market trends; the Bank launched Mobile App less than a year ago, after NBAD became the first UAE bank to offer mobile banking with the launch of Arrow Services,” Al Naqbi said. “Our valued customer and the market can expect NBAD to continue to be the leader in technology rollout.” – TradeArabia News Service
