BMB names global head of institutional sales
Dubai, December 1, 2008
BMB, the sovereign merchant bank, has appointed Chris Walker as global head of institutional sales and marketing.
Walker will be based in the London office and will report directly to David Gibson-Moore, head of wealth management. In addition to his other responsibilities, in the immediate term he will be part of BMB’s acquisition team looking at financial services businesses in the US and Europe, said a statement.
Chris joins BMB from Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch where he was executive vice president in London responsible for international clients.
He has an MA from Oxford University, and is an experienced business columnist.
“We welcome and appreciate industry leaders of the calibre of Chris Walker. At a time when the largest Wall Street institutions are retrenching, we are aggressively hiring leading industry professionals,” stated Rayo Withanage, chairman of BMB.
“During the current financial crisis, there are excellent opportunities for BMB, an unleveraged merchant bank with deep capital. I am excited to join the top team at BMB, and to lead our business efforts in developed markets,” added Chris Walker.-TradeArabia News Service
