Zurich International opens Qatar branch

Zurich International Life (Zurich) has opened of a new branch in Qatar marking its latest venture in the Middle East after having already established branches in the UAE and Bahrain.

Through its new branch in Qatar, Zurich will be selling a range of individual savings, protection and corporate products, said an official spokesman.

“This new opening is part of our global business expansion plan and is central to our Middle East development plans. The Middle East and in particular Qatar offers an exciting and growing base from which to expand and diversify our products and services to meet the demands of customers. We see a huge opportunity of growth opportunities in the Middle East, especially in Qatar,” said CEO of emerging markets, Global Life Insurance, Zurich, Martin Davis.

“The opening of a Zurich office in Qatar through the QFC will bring added depth to the insurance market locally and regionally. We are delighted to welcome them and look forward to supporting them in growing their business and in supplying the market with more products and more choice,” said CEO and director general of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) Stuart Pearce.

“The approval to conduct business in Qatar is the result of our collaborative relationship with QFC.
