Empower CEO named among Middle East Sustainability Leaders

Forbes Middle East has named Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), among its Sustainability Leaders in the Energy and Utilities sector, recognising his contributions to advancing sustainability across the region.

Bin Shafar features among 145 leaders representing 17 sectors who are driving sustainability initiatives across the Middle East.

The UAE accounted for 75 entries on the list, highlighting its role in promoting sustainable development.

The recognition comes as regional companies increasingly integrate sustainability into core business operations, supported by technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation.

These tools help optimise energy and water consumption, monitor emissions, improve resource efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of business activities.

“This recognition underscores the importance of continuing to integrate sustainability across all aspects of our operations and developing innovative solutions that enhance energy efficiency and optimise resource utilisation. At Empower, we believe that the deployment of advanced technologies and innovation are fundamental to the development of the district cooling sector and supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen environmental sustainability,” said Bin Shafar.

“We remain committed to continuously enhancing our operations and adopting best practices and technologies that enhance performance efficiency and support the transition towards a more sustainable future. We also believe that achieving sustainability goals requires integrated efforts across sectors, alongside continued investment in solutions that deliver long-term environmental, social and economic value,” he added. -TradeArabia News Service
