Embosal launches new LSAW heavy-wall thickness pipe mill in RAKEZ

United Arab Emirates-based tube and pipe manufacturer Embosal is installing a new Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welding (LSAW) pipe and tube mill at its facility in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ).

The unit will have a capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year and is scheduled for commissioning by December 2026.

The new line is designed to produce heavy-wall pipes and structural hollow sections, expanding Embosal's existing capabilities. It will manufacture Circular Hollow Sections (CHS) from 12 to 66 inches in diameter, with wall thicknesses from 8mm up to 70mm, covering standards including API 5L PSL1&2, 5CT, EN and ASTM. The mill will also produce Square Hollow Sections (SHS) from 200x200x30mm up to 1,200x1,200x60mm, and Rectangular Hollow Sections (RHS) from 250x150x30mm up to 1,200x1,100x60mm.

The new mill extends the size and thickness range beyond Embosal's existing tube mill capabilities, which currently cover LSAW pipe from 12 to 48 inches with thicknesses from 6mm to 40mm, ERW pipe from half an inch to 20 inches with thicknesses from 1mm to 16mm, and SSAW pipe from 12 to 102 inches with thicknesses from 6mm to 30mm.

Founded in 2017, Embosal currently operates with installed capacity of 980,000t/y of ERW pipe, 270,000t/y of LSAW pipe and 250,000t/y of SSAW pipe, in addition to rectangular and square tube production. - TradeArabia News Service
