The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has announced that it has added ACI CODE-440.11-22, which sets building code requirements for structural concrete reinforced with glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars, to its ACI PLUS digital platform.
Headquartered in Michigan, ACI is the leading global authority for the development, dissemination, and adoption of its consensus-based standards, technical resources and certification programmes for the concrete industry,
The addition gives subscribers digital access to the code, which establishes minimum requirements for the materials, design and detailing of structural concrete buildings and certain non-building structures reinforced with GFRP bars that comply with ASTM D7957-22, it stated.
According to ACI, the new code covers structural systems, members and connections, including cast-in-place, precast, non-prestressed and composite concrete construction.
The digital version is integrated with the ACI GFRP Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook (MNL-7(23)), allowing users to access related guidance and example problems directly from the code.
The institute said the ACI PLUS platform includes advanced search tools, note-taking capabilities and links to related technical publications to help engineers and designers access and apply code requirements more efficiently.-TradeArabia News Service
