Diriyah Company has awarded a major contract worth SAR2.5 billion ($666 million) for the implementation of the Pendry Superblock Package Northwest within Diriyah Gate II as part of the giga development - Diriyah Project.

Under this deal, Pendry Hotels and Resorts, a unit of US-based Montage International, will be setting up its debut property at Saudi Arabia's premier historical, cultural, and lifestyle destination.

A $63 billion project by Diriyah Company, it is aimed at transforming the birthplace of Saudi Arabia - into a world-class heritage destination that merges historic Najdi architecture with modern luxury. Diriyah is also home to the At Turaif Unesco World Heritage Site.

On the Pendry Superblock Package, Diriyah said the scope of work includes the construction of the Pendry Hotel Diriyah as well as premium residential and commercial assets spanning over a 75,000 sq m area.

It is one among the 32 new global hotel brands that have signed up to join Diriyah Company's impressive hospitality portfolio.

Founded in 2014, Pendry is a chain of luxury boutique hotels based in California. It also has a residential component at various properties, including Pendry Residences West Hollywood.

As of 2022, it operates seven properties in locations that include San Diego, Baltimore, West Hollywood, Chicago, New York City, Park City, and Washington DC.-TradeArabia News Service
