Saudi-based Energy and Infrastructure Company (EICO) said it has signed a significant engineering and construction contract with Chinese group Tebian Electric Apparatus (TBEA) for the Namria 380KV substation project being developed by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) in the kingdom's northern region.
A premier engineering and renewable energy firm established in 2012, EICO is a joint venture between Sinoma International and Walid Juffali Company.
The company specialises in grid substations, renewable energy initiatives, water treatment, and sustainable infrastructure projects across the Mena region.
This agreement marks an important milestone in expanding critical power infrastructure and strengthening EICO’s presence in the Middle East energy market.
As per the SEC contract, the scope of work includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the 380KV substation. The project is designed to enhance grid resilience, improve electricity reliability, and support ongoing regional economic development.
EICO’s leadership team, including CEO Chen Jinquan, and executives from TBEA’s Saudi branch Ge Qianjin, Deputy General Manager participated in the formal signing ceremony, highlighting the collaborative spirit and mutual commitment to quality delivery.
"This partnership exemplifies our strategic drive to deliver world-class infrastructure solutions and reinforces our long-term commitment to renewable and reliable energy development across the region," said Chen Jinquan.
The commencement of construction is expected to begin following final regulatory approvals, contributing to national energy goals and supporting increased capacity for future demand, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
