New chef de cuisine at Traiteur, Park Hyatt Dubai

Traiteur, the signature French restaurant in Park Hyatt Dubai, has selected Omar Basiony to lead its culinary team as chef de cuisine.

Basiony, an Egyptian national, grew up in the bustling city of Chicago. To escape the hustle he spent summers in Padova, Italy, working in a small osteria, inspiring him to pursue a career as a chef. With a keen focus on fine dining and a strong desire to travel, Basiony has worked at Michelin star restaurants throughout Chicago, Boston and Paris. His journey has also spanned Spain, France, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Japan, allowing him to immerse himself in local cultures and discover new and diverse culinary customs and techniques. With a fresh outlook and a longing to reconnect with his Middle-Eastern roots, Basiony moved to Dubai, broadening his expertise working within some of the city’s most popular dining destinations: La Serre and Zuma.

Basiony brings with him nearly a decade of experience and a world of knowledge that will ensure Traiteur remains one of the finest dining experiences in the city, but now with a renewed passion and elevated new menu, the hotel said. - TradeArabia News Service
