National Day festivities launched in Bahrain

Parachute jumping was one of the main attractions at Bahrain International Circuit's (BIC) National Day Festival which began yesterday (December 13).

A breathtaking air show featuring F-16 fighter planes will be held today, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Parachutists from Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) showcased their skills, while other highlights included music by the Police Band and the Indian School's marching band, an Indonesian Poco Poco dance and performances by the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre and Indian Embassy dance groups.

The celebrations, marking Bahrain's National Day and His Majesty King Hamad's accession to the throne, is being supported by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and will continue until Wednesday.

The five-day event features a bazaar, live music, traditional shows, family-friendly activities and a fireworks display.

It is being organised in co-operation with the BDF and Royal Bahrain Air Force.

“Visitors can enjoy a range of family activities from children's entertainment to cultural shows, bazaars and live music from Kuwaiti artist Yousef Al Omani today, Miami Band tomorrow and Bahraini superstar Khaled Fouad on Wednesday,” said a spokesman.

“The BIC National Day Festival will also showcase the biggest fireworks display in the kingdom on Tuesday from 6pm,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
