Greece renews sponsorship of Media Centre at WTM London

LONDON, October 13, 2021

The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) will again sponsor the International Media Centre at WTM London 2021 – and by doing so, the popular destination will help get the message out via the world’s press that travel and tourism is back on the agenda.

It is the 13th year that GNTO has sponsored the Media Centre, having signed up in 2008 and continuing to do so ever since.

GNTO UK & Ireland office Director Eleni Skarveli said: “We are proud to be part of the effort afforded by WTM London to work together to rebuild the tourism industry as we learn to adapt after the Covid pandemic.

“Now, more than ever before, countries need to work with the international media to get their message out. We’ll be at WTM London to show how Greece is looking to the future, with new experiences and product offerings, all in a Covid-safe environment.”

As sponsor of the Media Centre, Greece will have an additional platform to promote itself through trade and consumer publications across print, broadcast and online, as well as bloggers and others that move in the new media.

The Greek stand will host a large delegation to WTM London, including regional tourist boards, travel trade partners, travel agencies, resorts, operators and other players.

When travel opened up this summer, Greece proved a huge favourite among UK holidaymakers desperate for some sunshine in a destination that they felt confident to travel to.

Recently, Greece announced international collaborations with various airlines, tour operators and key players.

WTM London Exhibition Director Simon Press said: “It’s the continuation of a long-term partnership. This year, more than ever, the international media will be a key component of WTM London’s mission to relay the message that the world is opening up again and ready for international visitors.

“Greece has long been a favourite among Brits, as well as visitors from other key markets who know they’ll get a warm welcome when they visit. For that reason, when people were able to travel this summer, Greece was one of the stand-out destinations.”

WTM London takes place from November 1-3 at ExCeL, London, and will be followed by WTM & TF Virtual on November 8-9.-TradeArabia news Service
