Cypriot group J&P wins Fujairah luxury resort deal

DUBAI, November 15, 2017

Eagle Hills Abu Dhabi, a leading real estate investment and development company in the UAE, has awarded the construction and infrastructure works contract for the entire 63,677-sq-m site of The Address Fujairah Resort + Spa to Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P), a Cypriot building, civil and electromechanical engineering contractor.

The Address Fujairah Resort + Spa is a luxury development comprising 196 rooms with a range of five-star amenities and four residential buildings that include 172 branded apartments, five beach villas and five garden villas.

Located in Sharm in Fujairah, famous for its breathtaking landscape of mountains and uninterrupted sea views out onto the Gulf of Oman, the hospitality project will offer tranquility and high-end living for its residents and guests.

The development, which is scheduled for completion by 2019, also features a 500-m promenade, beach access and a unique plaza, said the Abu Dhabi developer.

The announcement marked the ground-breaking of the exciting luxury hotel and residential development, representing a significant milestone in the progress of the project in Fujairah.

Since the project was revealed in April 2016, Eagle Hills has completed the grading and marine works at the site.

On the contract win, Grigoris C Christofides, the chief executive of J&P, said: "We are honoured to be working with Eagle Hills on this prestigious project. Our vast experience coupled with an excellent track record will help provide the assurance that the project will be executed to the highest quality standards and will be successfully delivered on time."

As a top-tier contractor, J&P has a proven track record of high level delivery on time and on budget. Its impressive list of previous UAE projects includes Emirates Airlines New Engineering Centre at Dubai International Airport, Fujairah Freeway and Ras Al Khor Crossing, as well as international projects including Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan, stated Christofides.

With 23,000 staff operating in nine countries, J&P has delivered high-profile developments in markets throughout Africa, Europe and North America.

In the Middle East, the company operates in Saudi Arabia and Oman, as well as the UAE where it has been working since 1971 with offices in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he added.

Eagle Hills CEO Low Ping said: "Today, we are a major step closer to bringing quintessential living to this unique part of the UAE, which is set to become the beating heart of Fujairah. We are pleased to appoint J&P given their strong reputation and portfolio."

"With the ground and marine works complete and a big demand coming from investors, this project is well on track for its 2019 completion and this announcement demonstrates our commitment to the world-class levels of construction we will deliver for The Address Fujairah Resort + Spa," stated Ping.

Eagle Hills, she stated, is developing projects in four international markets, namely Morocco, Bahrain, Jordan and Serbia and the UAE, where it is working to reinvigorating city hubs, improving the standard of living and increasing investment in the local economies.

In the UAE, Eagle Hills is working closely with the Fujairah and Dibba municipalities on two projects, Fujairah Beach and The Address Fujairah Resort + Spa, where it is committed to boosting the economies of the Northern Emirates.-TradeArabia News Service
