Copthorne Hotel Dubai targets halal tourism sector
DUBAI, April 28, 2016
Copthorne Hotel Dubai is keen to grow its share of the rapidly growing Halal tourism sector, which was reported to be worth $140 billion in 2014 representing around 13 per cent of global travel expenditure.
This figure is expected to reach $233 billion by 2020, presenting huge opportunities for governments, tourism boards, hotels, tour operators and other key travel industry players across the Middle East region.
Elaborating on Copthorne Hotel Dubai's strategy, general manager Glenn Nobbs said: "Halal tourism is rapidly gaining popularity, as recognised at the special seminar held at ATM yesterday. We are perfectly placed at Copthorne Hotel Dubai to welcome Halal travellers. Being a Sharia compliant property, with a team of well-trained hospitality professionals who understand the requirements of Muslim guests, we are in a great position to be a leader in attracting and serving this segment in Dubai. Each of our guestrooms offers a Qibla signage, prayer mat and copy of Holy Quran. For the convenience of our guests, while we have our own prayer room, the 'Green' mosque is located just across the road. Moreover, we do not serve any alcohol and only serve Halal food. Arabian Travel Market offers us the perfect opportunity to promote our facilities and meet key travel agents and suppliers of the Halal segment that covers a variety of travelers, be it corporate or leisure."
Copthorne Hotel Dubai will be exhibiting at the World Halal Tourism Summit being held in Abu Dhabi in November along with some of its sister hotels.
Located merely 10 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport in Port Saeed, Deira, Copthorne Hotel Dubai lies in close proximity to key government offices and business establishments. The elegant hotel offers its guests a choice of 210 spacious and luxurious rooms and suites. For those with meeting requirements, on site are five meeting rooms and integrated conference facilities. Socialising with friends or business associates is equally delightful at the hotel’s two dining venues. Included in the leisure facilities are beautiful outdoor swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms as well as fitness centre to help travellers stay fit while on the road or between meetings. - TradeArabia News Service
