Cityscape Global 2011, a leading event for the real estate industry, will open its doors tomorrow  (September 27), celebrating its 10th year in Dubai.

As many as 150 exhibitors from 28 participating countries, including the UK, USA, Malaysia, Turkey, Brazil, Russia and Greece will be taking part as well as regional real estate companies. 

Dubai’s Emaar, Nakheel, Dubai Properties, Damac Properties and many more will showcase their projects at the show, which will run till September 29 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

According to research by Ventures on behalf of Cityscape Global, commercial and retail sectors continue to present the areas with the most significant demand across the GCC, except in Oman, where the demand is predominantly residential. 
The Global Real Estate Seminars, together with Retail City and World Architecture Congress, will provide platforms for regional and international exerts to discuss a range of pressing industry topics.

Chris Speller, group director for Cityscape, said: “Cityscape has developed significantly over the past 10 years, becoming a ‘household name’ within the real estate industry. This year we anticipate there will be a strong focus on end user and an increase in the presence of long-term investors.

“This year’s event will see international companies representing more than 50 per cent of the total exhibitors, an increase on the 2010 event, and Dubai’s position as an ideal bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa has secured its standing within the international business community.”

In addition to Cityscape Global, organiser Informa has launched the Future Cities Conference and exhibition, jointly organised with the Dubai Municipality, the Environmental Center for Arab Towns and the Arab Towns Organization. The event will focus on sustainability and stability of the urban environment. Dubai Municipality will also be presenting its vision for the emirate over the next 30 years at the opening session of the conference.

There will also be a number of networking events scheduled during the three days, with both retail and architecture taking the spotlight at the Retail City Awards and the Cityscape Awards for Architecture in Emerging Markets.
