Iran plans to lay 6,000 km of gas pipelines

TEHRAN, August 3, 2016

Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) plans to lay 6,000 km of gas pipelines nationwide in the coming years, a report said.

More than 34,000 km of gas pipelines have so far been laid and a further 1,680 km will be laid in the near future, IGEDC managing director Hassan Montazer Torbati was quoted as saying by Iran Daily News, which cited the petro energy information network Shana.

Torbati said 76 gas pressure stations have been set up in the country and 10 more are under construction, adding that the company plans to construct 36 such stations in the coming years.
