ENOC employees receive Code of Business Conduct

Enoc launches new 'code of business conduct'

DUBAI, November 15, 2015

Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc), a leading integrated global oil and gas player, introduced its revised ‘Code of Business Conduct’ (COBC) at a staff event organized during the recent ‘Ethics Week’ in Dubai, UAE.

Enoc Ethics Week was celebrated alongside the international celebration of Compliance & Ethics Week by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). It also coincides with the fifth year anniversary of the launch of the Code of Business Conduct at Enoc. Throughout the week, the Group trained all its employees on the revised Code through several training and orientation sessions.

Enoc first introduced the ‘Code of Business Conduct’ five years ago to provide a clear insight and understanding of the corporate values, responsibilities, obligations and ethical ambitions of Enoc, both to its staff and its partners and stakeholders.

Saif Al Falasi, Group CEO, Enoc, said: “We have inculcated a high level of integrity across our entire operations over the last five years when we first introduced the Code of Business Conduct in 2010. Through transparency and a process which allows for employees to report on any unethical practice without fear of retribution, Enoc strengthened its platform for growth by building even stronger bridges with our partners and stakeholders.

“As we aspire to grow globally and become an international integrated oil & gas player, we are glad to have our building blocks of ethical business practices in place, enabling us to attract not only the best of talent but also express confidence in all those who wish to do business with us from around the world.”

Several workshops for employees were held on the Conflict of Interest Disclosure form and the revised COBC in order to ensure that the methodology of every business practice is communicated effectively.

In a ‘train the trainer’ programme, the Ethics E-learning modules were introduced to the Business Ethics Committee members and senior management. Participation in E-learning will be mandatory for all Enoc employees, a statement said.

The ‘Code of Business Conduct’ outlines an approach towards fair treatment, environment, health & safety standards, quality, workplace conduct, conflicts of interest, business courtesies, intellectual property, information use, trademarks, records management, and reporting misconducts, among others. – TradeArabia News Service
