HP Middle East today announced the UAE winner for its 'Design Your Personal Life' final event.

The event took place on January 31 at the Dubai Wafi City Rooftop Gardens.

The winning band, Sun King, got the chance to play live via satellite link up to the three other cities taking part, Athens, Istanbul and Johannesburg, and will be playing to the pre-concert audience on a specially built HP stage at the Santana concert on February 15.

The top five finalists, CISUM, Kerie Lee, Indiephone, Sun King and NepercoN were voted for by the public and battled it out in front of 500 fans. Each band played two songs, including the track they uploaded to the specially built HP competition website – www.dypl-me.com – where the event was also streamed live.

The music of the five bands offered the audience a mixture of genres.

'This initiative is one very close to HP’s heart and will be extending the contest one step further, with the winners from the four cities competing for an overall winner in June.”

It was announced by HP on the night that it has launched a new phase for the competition where each of the four cities’ winning bands will compete for the chance to play at the HP Personal Systems Group ‘mega launch’ in Berlin in June, performing for one hour in front of an audience of over 1,000 comprising 400 journalists, international celebrities and HP achievers. -TradeArabia News Service
