Saudi agriculture sector registers solid growth

Saudi Arabia’s agriculture sector has been witnessing tremendous growth over the past few years, thanks to a series of projects that complement the expansion and enhancement of local agriculture infrastructure with the use of advanced technologies, said an expert ahead of an industry event.
The Saudi Agriculture – the 34th international trade exhibition for agriculture, water and agro-industry – will kick off on October 11 at Riyadh International Convention Centre and will run until October 14.
One of the Middle East’s largest industrial show, the Saudi Agriculture, is being organized by the Riyadh Exhibitions Company. It will be held under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture with Fakieh Poultry and Arabian Agricultural Services Company (Arasco) as its diamond sponsors.
The event also enjoys the backing of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a strategic partner. The opening ceremony will be chaired by Abdullrahman Bin Abdullmohsen Al-Fadhli, the Minister of Agriculture, in the presence of senior officials from the sector.
According to experts, Saudi Arabia continues to boost its agricultural sector which has a great economic significance as a key pillar in achieving food security and taking the country to the new levels of self-sufficiency.
Furthermore, it plays a pivotal role in attracting foreign direct investments (FDIs) to support economic growth with its various sectors.
According to senior officials from REC, the current edition of Saudi Agriculture is expected to attract a noticeable number of visitors, including industry leaders, senior experts, global suppliers, manufacturers, project managers, traders, engineers, and researchers from the across the globe.
The event will act as a strategic platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge among decision-makers, strengthening their bonds of co-operation and establishing strong partnerships between stakeholders from different countries, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
