Microsoft 'cloud' empowers non-profits in Bahrain
MANAMA, October 31, 2016
Microsoft has announced that it will be making its comprehensive set of cloud services available to non-profit organisations and non-governmental organisations as part of its ‘Modern Non-profit’ campaign.
The Microsoft Suite of cloud services include Office 365, Dynamics CRM, Enterprise Mobility, Power BI, and now Microsoft Azure to help the modern non-profit do even more good in their communities.
The offer comes from its Microsoft Philanthropies division and is in line with the software giant’s broadening commitment to corporate philanthropies; reiterated by participating as the bronze sponsor for Charity Innovation Conference 2016 held at ART Rotana Amwaj Islands Bahrain on October 23 and 24.
Microsoft's presence at the charity event for the second year in a row affirmed its mission to deliver great technology within the community space; while meeting the greatest technological needs for a strong societal ecosystem.
Hamad Al Saie, the public sector business development manager, Microsoft Bahrain & Oman, conducted a session titled 'Empowering the Modern Non-profit' at the conference, based on Microsoft’s commitment to empower non-profits to achieve more through cloud computing.
The sessions addressed NGO sector concerns by showing how non-profits can achieve parameters of technological advancement and accelerate digital revolution.
"Cloud computing is a vital resource for addressing the world’s problems, but for many non-profits, it is an expensive and missing link," remarked Al Saie.
“Our participation in the conference serves to complement Microsoft’s philanthropic initiatives which are geared towards creating opportunities for non-profits to help fuel the breakthroughs and discoveries that can change lives," he stated.
Microsoft also delivered a workshop at the event for a select number of NGOs, with focus on cloud solutions for the millennial workforce and how non-profit organisations can access and leverage latest cloud tools to digitally transform their business, and transform the world.
"We are committed to helping non-profit groups to use cloud computing to solve basic human challenges. One of our ambitions for Microsoft Philanthropies is to partner with these groups and ensure that cloud computing is accessible to a greater number of people and meets the widest range of societal needs," remarked Al Saie.
In January 2016, Satya Nadella, the chief executive of Microsoft, announced that the company will donate $1 billion in cloud computing resources over the next three years to 70,000 non-profits and NGOs worldwide.
"Technology is directly linked to the development of society, and our vision is to modernize the way NGOs and non-profits work today - thus solve some of the world’s biggest societal challenges," remarked Musab Al Shaikh, the official spokesman of the Charity Technology Innovation Conference 2016.
"Microsoft’s participation in the conference is envisioned as a long-term partnership that helps us reaffirm our commitment to the society, paving a way for non-profits to learn, adopt and leverage the technology solutions they need, in order to make a difference today; for a better tomorrow,” he stated.
According to him, the cloud suite available to non-profits will empower them from the office to the field to achieve more.
"Office 365 will enable staff and volunteers to collaborate and communicate effectively from anywhere at any time, while Dynamics CRM will help the non-profits manage relationships with donors, volunteers and beneficiaries, as well as drive decision making through actionable business intelligence with Power BI," said Al Shaikh.
"Enterprise Mobility Suite, will enable manage devices, applications, and data on a cross-platform basis supported by industry-leading security and identity management services," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
