Bahrain Works Ministry's electronic services users soar

MANAMA, August 7, 2015

The number of users for the 10 electronic services at Bahrain's Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning reached 10,284 during the first half of the year.

The services can be accessed through both the Ministry's portal and the e-Government portal, said a statement.

Hisham Sater, information technology director at the Ministry, said that the statistics revealed that the Materials Testing Results Services targeted the highest number of users with 7,572 users, after which came the Traffic Diversion Request e-Service with 2,114 users, and then the Material/Product Assessment eService with 284 users.

The remaining number of users used the rest of the electronic services available which are the report road fault, sanitary maintenance request, sanitary connection request, traffic signals request, abnormal load permission, contractor pre-qualification, traffic diversion request and building maintenance request, he said.

The Ministry seeks to provide high quality services to citizens and residents by providing the eServices, which contributed tremendously to saving time and effort for both the users and the directorates concerned with each service, said Sater.

"The rise in the number of users for the eServices indicates the increasing awareness of the Bahraini society. The eServices allowed them to process governmental handlings with more ease and in less time. It has also strengthened communication with the Government," he added. - TradeArabia News Service
