Manama, December 12, 2010
Microsoft Gulf has announced a restructuring of operations across the region. It also introduced changes in its leadership structure reflecting its focus on further expansion.
As part of this development, Bahrain and Oman which were previously managed as separate markets, will now form part of a new sub-region.
These changes reflect Microsoft's long-term commitment and renewed focus on enhancing the development of IT infrastructure in both countries.
Subsequent to this announcement, two key leadership roles were announced.
Tareq Hijazi was named as regional country manager for the new sub-region.
Badea Esbai was announced as regional manager for Microsoft's small and medium solutions and partner group.
In his new role, Hijazi will lead the overall strategy, business operations and outreach for the company in both countries.
Prior to assuming this post, Mr Hijazi was managing the commercial business of Microsoft in the UAE.
He joined Microsoft in 2001 and has played several roles with Microsoft Jordan and Microsoft Gulf.
He was recently awarded the Microsoft chairman's award, the company's highest form of recognition reflecting his invaluable contribution to Microsoft's business.
Esbai will focus on overseeing Microsoft's small and medium business strategy to deliver strong revenue growth for the company and its partners as well as creating a loyal channel for Microsoft products across the Gulf.
Microsoft Gulf regional general manager Samer Abu Ltaif congratulated Hijazi and Esbai on their new roles.
"I have great confidence in the value they bring to our business in the region.
"Considering their track record and their enormous experience, I believe our operations across the Gulf are now in very capable hands and I look forward to working with them to maintain our leadership position and expand our operations across the region.
"The restructuring of operations with the formation of a new sub-region will also help us consolidate our resources and enhance our operational and marketing efficiency to boost our strong growth prospects," Abu Ltaif said.-TradeArabia News Service
