Alba wins ‘Volunteer Service Award’ for the 2nd year in a row

MANAMA, October 24, 2022

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, has won the Volunteer Service Award by Injaz Bahrain for the second year in a row.
 
This was announced during the appreciation ceremony held under the patronage of Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of Injaz Bahrain, where Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali was presented with an award for the company’s contribution of 491 Volunteering Hours, the highest amongst Bahrain companies, in 2021-2022. 
 
At this event, several Alba employees were also recognised for their support and participation in Injaz programmes -- Head of Training, Nouf Ahmadi was honoured with the Outstanding Coordinator Award for her role in facilitating Alba volunteers’ participation in various programmes organised by Injaz Bahrain, Manager Public Relations Abdulla Seyadee received the Certificate of Achievement (Platinum) and the Certificate of Achievement (Golden) was awarded to Senior Head of Events & Protocol, Ahmed Shukri, Supervisor Operational Excellence, Manar Bahar and Human Resources Coordinator, Fatima A. Rasool for their active volunteering work. 
 
Socially responsible
Al Baqali said: “As a socially responsible corporate citizen, Alba believes that volunteerism is the voice of people put into action which in turn will shape and mould the present into a better future. As one of the leading industrial companies in the region, we are proud to take an active role in the Bahrain youth’s educational empowerment which will set the base to have a talented workforce for the future.”
 
For 2020-2021, Alba won the same Award for contributing 482 Volunteering Hours, despite the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 Pandemic.-- TradeArabia News Service
