Top Dubai expo to showcase glass products, technology

DUBAI, September 3, 2015

A leading glass exhibition is set to showcase technology, materials abd refractories for the container, flat and process glass products in Dubai, UAE, this month.

Gulf Glass 2015, the region’s leading international glass exhibition, will return to Dubai for the sixth time from September 14 to 16 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

It will bring together flat and container glass manufacturers, processors, fabricators, contractors and engineers to source products from suppliers who will be exhibiting cutting-edge products from around the world.

With construction projects worth more than $172 billion expected to be completed this year, the demand for glass is set to increase significantly.

Over the past five years, the event has attracted thousands of visitors, with people coming from all over the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region to attend.

The event also features a series of free-to-attend CPD (continuous professional development)-certified workshops providing the latest industry trends, tools, applications and technologies in the glass industry.

Muhammed Kazi, senior project manager, Gulf Glass 2015, said: “Construction across the region is booming and the need for new glass materials has grown immensely over the last decade. With futuristic architecture and new designs, we have seen a rise in the use of glass materials in the construction of skyscrapers across the region.

"The exhibition will bring together some of the biggest names in the glass industry, allowing customers to directly source materials for upcoming projects.

“This year, we are also offering a number of workshops that will enable participants to learn more about the benefits of particular types of materials and machineries.”

A recent study by Deloitte Middle East, titled 'GCC Powers of Construction 2015: Construction – the economic barometer for the region', reported that the total value of infrastructure and capital projects planned and under way in the GCC countries in 2015 is valued at $172 billion - the highest on record to date.
