Nass showcases key services at GIF
MANAMA, February 3, 2015
Nass Corporation, Bahrain’s diverse conglomerate catering to the full spectrum of industrial sector needs, is showcasing its range of services and products at the Gulf Industry Fair 2015 (GIF).
The roots of Nass Corporation are anchored as far back as 1963, when Abdulla Ahmed Nass Contracting Company was formed. Since the IPO listing on the Bahrain Stock Exchange in 2005, Nass Corporation has emerged as a foremost provider of integrated turnkey solutions for the construction and industrial sectors, and a preferred partner of choice throughout the GCC.
Nass Industrial Services (NIS), Nass Marine Services, Abrasive Technology Industries (ATI) and Nass Commercial are the four companies selected to fly the Nass flag at the region’s premier industrial exhibition, which opened today.
NIS, also known as Nass Mechanical Contracting (NMC), started operations in 1972 progressing to its reputation today as one of the leading electro-mechanical EPC (engineering, procurement and contracting) contractors, and turnkey engineering solutions providers. It has completed prestigious projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and water, metal and mining and infrastructure sectors in Bahrain and the GCC.
Major projects of NIS/NMC include piping pre-fabrication and supply, fabrication, erection of storage of tanks for Sadara’s propylene oxide plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia; installation of ship impact protection systems for the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco); constructing a jetty facility for Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and GPIC (Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company)/Mitsubishi Heavy Industries; construction of four potlines for the aluminium smelter plant Maaden; construction of offsites and utilities for Saudi Technology Base Lube Oil Plant (STBLOP); and procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of polyethylene plant for Snamprogetti in Kuwait.
Nass Marine Services specialises in the building of small to medium sized vessels, ship repairs and the application of new technologies in the marine industry. The company’s Bahrain shipyard is well-placed to manufacture 18 barges a year ranging from 120-250 ft. The company is also working on a project involving the assembly of small jack-ups designed for the routine maintenance of larger jack-up units, thereby enabling them to remain in operation on station.
Meanwhile, ATI, a highly sophisticated factory for cutting and grinding wheels in the region, has become a hub for global abrasives trading, offering both local and international clients high-quality products and efficient logistical support. ATI products have entered the European market since mid-2014 under the dealership of a foreign brand name.
Nass Commercial is also a distributor for Bapco’s new line of lubricants.
Nass’s roster of prestigious clientele includes some of the largest industrial companies in the GCC such as Bapco, Alba, Tatweer Petroleum, Durrat Al Bahrain, SULB, Snamprogetti, STBLOP, Sadara, Technip, Tekfen, Maaden, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Braden Europe, Bechtel, and voestalpine Group. - TradeArabia News Service
