LG showcases medical displays at Arab Health

With the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region’s largest healthcare exhibition underway, LG Electronics (LG) is showcasing its advanced medical display solutions to empower better patient care at Arab Health 2021.
Under the show’s theme of ‘United by Business – Driving the Industry Forward’, attendees are exploring the latest technological innovations designed to improve the speed and accuracy of diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, in accordance with upholding standards of providing quality healthcare.
Aligned with this agenda, LG is showcasing its current line-up of medical displays and has also revealed its latest solution especially for Arab Health visitors – announced globally earlier this week.

LG has made a global announcement, unveiling an improved X-ray acquisition software for the company’s Digital X-Ray Detector (DXD) line-up. This software has been developed in close partnership with VUNO – an industry-renowned specialist in AI-based medical solutions.
It represents the first healthcare solution in LG’s medical imaging portfolio to make use of AI. When combined with LG DXD, the advanced software enables a more seamless, time-efficient way of generating and analysing X-ray images.
LG has evolved its range of medical solutions with the introduction of a 14 x 17-inch wireless DXD with oxide panel that delivers high-resolution, low radiation dose images. With an IP68 rating, the new DXD is safe to use in dusty or wet conditions, while the eight hour battery life offers portability and long usage times.
Within LG’s portfolio of Diagnostic Monitors, model 31HN713D features a 12MP IPS display for mammography and also separate functions under Pathology Mode and Focus View Mode. Diagnostic monitors often need to be connected to various modalities, all with differing resolutions.
Thanks to 31HN73D’s Multi-resolution Mode, users can adjust the resolution of monitor to optimise in accordance with the connected device. The monitor features an internal front sensor for self-calibration, improving the quality and consistency of medical images that are displayed by maintaining accurate values.
LG’s latest 4K Surgical Monitor (model 32HL714S) comes with a large 31.5-inch IPS Display for greater clarity and precision. The monitor provides visual comfort for viewing accurate images from a 178 degree viewing angle and as a result, reduces the risk of misperception.
It is compatible with HDR-supported medical devices such as endoscope cameras and can deliver images from devices vividly without crushing blacks in dark areas. LG’s surgical monitors also feature anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint protection glass for enhanced usability.
The 27-inch 8MP IPS display on LG’s Clinical Review Monitor (model 27HJ713C) provides the ideal brightness required for secondary review. The 178 degree-wide viewing angle lets patients and doctors to see accurately reproduced images with minimal distortion. Compliant with medical standards, the DICOM Part 14 Gamma adjusts the greyscale levels of medical images from various medical imaging modalities, helping to achieve more accurate review.
Furthermore, an in-built sensor measures the backlight brightness stability, automatically compensating for brightness fluctuations caused by natural display aging, for a consistently stable display throughout the usage lifespan.
LG’s 65-inch Interactive Display Board is designed to enable true collaboration, owing to its multi-touch and accurate writing functions. It supports multi-directional communication and can connect up to 30 attendees at one time, offering interactive meetings for all mobile devices on the same network.
With UHD resolution (which is four times higher than FHD), whether viewing documents, images or videos, all content can be displayed without any distortion of image quality.
The Hospital TV series from LG provides advanced technology in a cost-effective solution designed for patients and staff alike. With Pillow Speaker support, sound and videos can be controlled directly by a pillow speaker for patient convenience. The function also enables LG’s Reliable Nurse Call System – improving patient and staff response. LG’s Hospital TVs also feature voice recognition, enabling ever more convenient operation. Ensuring technology stands the test of time, LG’s Hospital TVs are even UL Hospital Grade Listed – able to withstand heavy use in healthcare environments.
