Sharjah, October 7, 2010
Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) recently held a two-day training programme on “work etiquette” for its employees, aiming to improve their knowledge and skills across the various museums.
The programme, run by Ashraf Al Marzouqi, etiquette and protocol specialist, included a number of topics aimed at enabling the participants to gain the necessary skills in dealing with dignitaries and guests.
The programme focused on the definition of etiquette concepts, and its relationship to daily behaviours. It also familiarised participants with the elements of social etiquette as well as the basics of Islamic culture, customs and traditions and Arab morals.
“SMD is committed to build and nurture the capabilities of all staff to carry out their duties to the fullest, and thus contribute to the continual development of Shajrah’s cultural sector,” said Manal Ataya, director general, SMD.
“The programme was successful and strengthened the skills of our staff members, and helped enhance their awareness on the global definition of work etiquette and protocol,” he added.
The training programme focused on providing the participants with the necessary knowledge and conduct of meetings, discussions and negotiation, and official ceremonies, in accordance with the rules of etiquette and international protocol. – TradeArabia News Service
