Alec Group announces Saudi foray with new Riyadh office

Alec Engineering and Contracting (Alec), part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), has opened its first office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of its regional expansion strategy.
A large construction company, Alec boasts related businesses operating in the GCC with a key presence in Africa.
The ICD unit has consistently evolved and grown over the last 20 years to become a trusted partner for the execution of complex and iconic construction projects. It currently has offices in Dubai, Oman and Ethiopia.
The Saudi office will be led by General Manager Darrell Bergesen an industry veteran with over 28 years of international experience across South Africa, the UK and the Middle East.
He had previously worked with Alec from 2007 until 2017, and has re-joined the company after delivering the largest and most complex ‘brownfield’ mall in South Africa.
In his new role, Bergesen will be responsible for overseeing the growth and expansion of the company.
Managing Director Barry Lewis said the Riyadh office opening come as part of its commitment to supporting the development of Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
