SSH wins Bahrain's Northern Town contract

DUBAI, February 14, 2016

SSH, a leading design, construction supervision and project management firm in the Middle East, has been appointed as the contract manager and site supervision consultant for Al Madina Al Shamaliya (Northern Town), a major islands project off the northern coast of Bahrain.

A mixed-use development project, Northern Town aims at creating a new urban town located on reclaimed land off the northern coast of Bahrain, said the company in a statement.

The Islands 13 & 14 (East) are expected to deliver 2,000 housing units under an affordable housing scheme by the Bahrain Ministry of Housing.

As per the deal, SSH will supervise the construction of the primary infrastructure and bridges on these islands.

The scope of work includes primary infrastructure networks along with development of over 5.5-km-long roads, installation of utilities such as storm water, potable water, electrical, irrigation and telecommunications network, along with the construction of vehicular and pedestrian bridges to connect the two islands.
