Riyadh, January 12, 2010
Four Saudi soldiers have been killed in clashes at a border post near Yemen in which Saudi Arabian forces seized back the position and "destroyed" Shi'ite infiltrators, Saudi state television reported on Tuesday.
State television, citing Assistant Minister of Defence Prince Khaled bin Sultan, reported that the death toll of Saudi soldiers in the border conflict with Yemeni Shi'ite rebels now stood at 82.
Prince Khaled said the infiltrators had been given an ultimatum to leave the Al-Jabri area where the border post is located within 48 hours. "They did not comply ... All of them have been destroyed," he said on state television. - Reuters
