Dream big, top businessman tells entrepreneurs

Leading UAE-based businessman Thumbay Moideen has urged entrepreneurs to "dream big to be big".
Modieen, the foudner president of Thumbay Group, was addressing a massive gathering of 6,000 people at the “Vibrant Business Summit” held at Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India.
Moideen, who was invited to speak at the “Business Role Model” session enthralled the audience with his knowledge and experience, as he took them down the memory lane reliving his first steps as an entrepreneur, his inspiring journey against odds setting up a private medical college and hospital, the challenge of running a full-fledged private medical university as well as a chain of hospitals and clinics, and managing a range of businesses under Thumbay Group spanning 13 verticals.
He told the audience that Thumbay Group’s impressive growth over the years had encouraged him to take greater risks and venture into new areas.
He added that he was in the continuous process of learning from his experiences, and that he was keen on learning new lessons from each new venture he undertook.
He summed up the key ingredients of a successful business as God’s grace, government’s support and a good team to back you up.
He also exhorted the attendees to always be ethical and transparent in their dealings.
He revealed that his next big ambition was to come back to India, and he invited entrepreneurs and business owners present, to join him in the journey.
Organized by ABKKP Yuvasangh, the youth wing of Gujarat’s Patidar (Kadva) community, the Vibrant Business Summit also included an exhibition in an area more than 10,000 sq m.
The event offered a platform for Business to Business (B2B), Business to Consumer (B2C), Business to Investment (B2I) and Business to Government (B2G) interactions and transactions.
It also presented innovative business concepts and showcased new business projects and proposals.
The inaugural session of the summit was held in the presence of top Indian political leaders, and was addressed by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, via video conference.
