Singapore-based Meranti Green Steel said it has awarded a major FEED contract to a consortium of German group SMS and global direct reduction (DR) technology leader Midrex for its green iron facility at Duqm, Oman, with a planned capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per annum.
Indian construction and engineering conglomerate Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said it has been awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract by Singapore-based Meranti Green Steel (MGS) for a major green iron project in Duqm, Oman, with a 2.5 million tonnes per annum capacity.
Singapore-headquartered Meranti Green Steel has announced that it has secured full offtake coverage for the first module of its green Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) production from its new iron plant within the Duqm Special Economic Zone in Oman, thus marking a key commercial milestone for the project.
