Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) aims to attract more international events and conferences such as Routes World 2024 to the kingdom, said its CEO Sarah Ahmed Buhiji while speaking to BNA on the sidelines of Routes World 2024.

A major event for the aviation industry, Routes World 2024 opened its doors yesterday (October 6) drawing 2,300 industry experts from 110 countries, including 230 airlines and 530 airports.

Commending the success of Routes World 2024 event, Buhiji said such events reflects Bahrain’s readiness, in terms of infrastructure, to host large-scale events, thus reinforcing its position as a regional and international hub for aviation and logistics.

Conferences and exhibitions create new opportunities for co-operation and organising more major tourism events, she stated, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration between Bahrain’s tourism and aviation sectors.

Mega events such as Routes World also play a vital role in attracting more visitors to Bahrain, thus contributing to the national economy and supporting strategic tourism goals, she added.
