Al Jahili Fort set to host National Day celebrations
ABU DHABI, November 27, 2018
Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain will host a programme of celebrations on December 2 marking the
47th UAE National Day.
The festivities will include a theatrical spectacle organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), which will tell the story of the union of the seven emirates using audio and visual effects specially designed for different age groups.
The show will include projections of old footage from the ‘founding and declaration of the Union’, along with extracts from Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s own poetry, using the latest sound effects. The show will also feature an innovative display of the story of the Union and a live performance highlighting the impact that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had on the UAE and its people.
Al Jahili Fort is one of the largest forts in the UAE and was built in 1891 during the reign of Sheikh Zayed the First. It was completed in 1898 thanks to the political stability the region was enjoying at the end of the 19th Century. It then became a summer residence for the rulers of Al Ain.
The performance will last for one hour, from 7pm - 8pm, and will be presented in both Arabic and English. - TradeArabia News Service
