Grand Millennium Muscat launches career development programme

MUSCAT, September 26, 2018

Millennium Hotels and Resorts has launched a new development programme entitled ‘TooMooH’, which translates as ‘ambition’.

TooMooH is a fast track development programme designed for selected national colleagues with the potential to handle managerial positions upon completion of the programme.

This powerful initiative was designed to support, train and empower the talent of GCC nationals looking to develop a long career within the hospitality sector. TooMooH is a comprehensive programme with four levels focusing on the development of fresh graduates, executives and leaders.

“TooMooh has been created to promote and empower national talent in the GCC countries where Millennium Hotels and Resorts operate. I firmly believe it is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community where we are present. We are looking forward to contributing to the vision of GCC countries by unlocking the potential of nationals and enabling them to be a driving force of the country’s economic development,” said Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi, president and CEO, Millennium Hotels & Resorts Middle East.

As a first step TooMooH will launch the executive development programme (TEDP). This is a fast-track development programme for national colleagues between levels 4-6. With the potential to assume managerial positions upon successful completion. The program takes 18 months to complete, in addition to five months’ work experience in the earmarked role. The programme is split into four quadrants or milestones; Mentoring support from the senior management/general manager, assigned off-job training programmes for all the milestones, cross training in other operational departments and cross exposure in UAE.

“We believe in investing in our local people by giving Omanis the opportunity to ‘move up’ within the hospitality industry and actively grow in their career. In a country such as Oman, hospitality is a deep-rooted cultural characteristic; it can be found in every home. It seems only natural, therefore, for Omani nationals to be at the forefront of tourism, hospitality and hotel management in the sultanate,” said Luca Medda, cluster general manager, Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat. - TradeArabia News Service
