Kimpton Hotels to debut in Bangkok

BANGKOK, September 25, 2018

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with Siam Sindhorn to debut its leading boutique hotel brand, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in Bangkok — the first Kimpton hotel in Thailand, and second across the South East Asia and Korea region.

Opening in 2020, the new-build Kimpton Bangkok will feature 349 curated and artfully designed guest rooms, including 124 serviced residences, under an hour’s drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Located in the heart of the Langsuan area and nestled right beside Lumpini Park, one of the largest public parks in the city, it will offer the best of both worlds — convenient access to the city’s prime districts including Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam and Chidlom, combined with the tranquillity and unobstructed greenery views of Lumpini Park.

Commenting on this landmark signing, Clarence Tan, managing director South East Asia and Korea (SEAK), IHG, said: “In line with our plans to bring our Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand to highly sought-after destinations across the globe, we want to address the rising needs of travellers in the region for a sophisticated yet personalised lifestyle travel experience. The brand is iconic for its heartfelt and unconventional approach to boutique hospitality, and we’re confident that Kimpton Bangkok will be no exception — delighting guests with an unscripted ridiculously personalised experience, right in the heart of one of Bangkok’s most desirable locations.”

Kimpton Bangkok will be part of Sindhorn Village, a 22-acre mega mixed-use development, with a rich selection of bespoke dining and retail options available at guests’ doorstep. To explore other offerings and attractions around the city, guests can take the metro from the Chidlom BTS station conveniently located a short walk away.

Within the hotel, guests will be able to enjoy culinary delights at two dining establishments and unwind at the hotel swimming pool, gym and spa. Occupants of the serviced residences will have access to the Executive Club, and to meet guests’ event needs, Kimpton Bangkok will be equipped with seven meeting rooms, with a capacity to host functions close to 200 guests.

Chalaluck Bunnag, managing director of Siam Sindhorn, said: “IHG is world-renowned for delivering true hospitality and the Kimpton brand is no exception — promising an unforgettable stay centred around its inspiring and vibrant design, distinct restaurant concepts, unique culinary know-how and sincere guest service. We are delighted to partner with IHG to bring this new and exciting boutique hotel concept to Thailand, and look forward to welcoming guests when we open our doors in 2020.”

Acquired by IHG in January 2015, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is famed for its innovative and playful design and personal approach to guest service, featuring thoughtful perks and amenities, bound together with a sense of delight and discovery. The brand is also recognised for its award-winning portfolio of unique restaurants and bars led by talented chefs and bartenders. Common cornerstones include chef-crafted, seasonal menus that celebrate local farms and purveyors, heartfelt care, and vibrant interiors. - TradeArabia News Service
