Dubai Fitness Challenge returns in October

DUBAI, September 3, 2018

The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), the flagship fitness initiative launched last year by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, returns with a wider public programme this October.

The 30-day festival will run from October 19 to November 17 and will include a wide range of activities across the city that will be accessible to the entire Dubai community, as confirmed in today’s announcement by Dubai Tourism.

The inaugural DFC 2017 saw the public and private sectors come together to drive overwhelming response to the city-wide movement, encouraging 786,000 citizens and residents of all ages and fitness levels to commit to 30 consecutive minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days, in addition to several others from across Dubai and the wider UAE that participated at various events through the month-long festival.

This year, Dubai is continuing its mission to be the most active city in the world, and its goal is for over one million participants to take part in the movement, which will again showcase an extensive range of fitness activities, free facilities and sports, the latest workout routines, popular weekend fitness carnivals, and fitness villages across the city.

The DFC is the world’s only multi-activity, month-long, city-wide fitness movement, which involves a broad and inclusive range of activities, from walking, team sports, intense fitness regimes, paddle-boarding, group fitness classes, football, yoga and cycling. This year’s event is expected to be more action-packed, entertaining and personally rewarding, as it aims to interact with all ages, abilities and fitness levels across all communities in Dubai.

The event will also offer its participants the opportunity for self-discovery, social interaction and enjoyment, as well as to experiment with new and exciting ways to improve their fitness levels and experience a wide range of sports and exercise programmes that they have not previously participated in.

Further details including registration details and the full line-up for the Dubai Fitness Challenge will be unveiled in early October when interested participants will be able to register on the Dubai Fitness App. - TradeArabia News Service
