Copthorne Hotel Dubai rolls out new transit package

DUBAI, July 24, 2018

Copthorne Hotel Dubai, located within 4 kilometres of Dubai International Airport, has rolled out a new transit package, aimed at encouraging passengers to exit the airport, spend a day or two in the city and enjoy its key attractions.

The transit package starts from Dh249 ($67.7) for a stay in a Superior room inclusive of breakfast, wi-fi access, airport return drop off, discounts on food and beverage and 24-hour check-in/check-out. This promotion is valid for stays up until September 30.

The four-star property has created the special package after the Dubai government approved to exempt transit passengers from all entry fees for the first 48 hours, which can be extended for up to 96 hours for a fee of only Dh50 ($13.6). Many hotels, particularly those located close to the airport, have welcomed the decision which will increase the number of stop-over travellers to Dubai.

According to Khaleej Times, out of 50 million transit passengers who went through Dubai airports in 2017, only four million came out of the airport.

Glenn Nobbs, general manager, said: “We welcome this new directive by the government of granting 48-hour entry into the country at no cost for transiting passengers. This will enable travellers passing through Dubai International Airport to enjoy a day out in the city. Many travellers who previously would not have considered stepping out of the airport when on transit will now get a chance to explore the city and discover why it is one of the greatest destinations in the world. I hope the experience will encourage them to return to Dubai as the destination for their next holiday.”

Copthorne Hotel Dubai is a short distance to the Deira City Center metro station so travellers can hop from one station to another when visiting the city’s top attractions like Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Frame. Visitors can also take an abra (boat) ride to see Al Seef, located on the banks of Dubai Creek near the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood where visitors can shop, dine and visit the Dubai Museum to learn the history of the UAE.

After the city tour, guests can rest and relax in their hotel room, take a dip in the swimming pool, flex their muscles at the newly renovated gym or get a foot massage at the Spa. However, a visit to Dubai is not complete without shopping. Copthorne Hotel Dubai is near the Deira City Centre shopping mall which houses many of the world’s top fashion brands so one can shop to their heart’s delight, with some shops offering the best bargains at this time of the year.

The Transit package is subject to availability and bookable only via the hotel’s website. When this package is booked, guest can enroll as My Millennium loyalty member and earn an immediate discount on the package booked and many other benefits of the loyalty programme. - TradeArabia News Service
