Bahrain discusses tourism ties with UNWTO

MANAMA, July 4, 2018

Bahrain is looking at ways to enhance cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to achieve joint tourism related goals.

Innovative initiatives and benefits from international expertise in the field of tourism were discussed during a meeting between Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and a delegation from the UNWTO.

The delegation included the director of conference services at UNWTO, Yolanda Sansegundo; Senior expert on innovation and digital transformation at UNWTO, Natalia Bayona; and the senior vice president of enterprise partnerships at Mastercard, Diana Robino.

The meeting was also attended by the director of facilities and tourism services at BTEA, Hesham Al Saken and advisor at the BTEA, Jesus Florido-Banqueri.

This comes in line with the BTEA’s long-term strategy to further develop the kingdom’s tourism sector and strengthen its position on a regional and international level. - TradeArabia News Service
