SalamAir flies to Baku and Tbilisi

MUSCAT, June 25, 2018

SalamAir has commenced flights to two new destinations - Baku, Azerbaijan and Tbilisi, Georgia, said a report.

The sultanate's budget airline began operating flights to Baku on June 14 and to Tbilisi on June 15, the Times of Oman reported.

The addition of these two new routes is expected to see an increase in tourism to the sultanate.

"These direct flights are going to help tourism in the country boom," the report cited Majid Al Qasabi, from the Department of Sales at SalamAir, as saying.

He added that SalamAir was working closely with Oman's Ministry of Tourism to liaise with tour operators in both Georgia and Azerbaijan.

SalamAir is operating three flights per week to each of the two destinations over the summer.

In addition to these two new destinations, the airline is looking to launch flights to Dhaka (Bangladesh), Najaf (Iraq) and Kathmandu (Nepal), the report said.
