Industry leaders flock to AIME and MRO Middle East

DUBAI, January 24, 2018

Aircraft Interiors Middle East and MRO Middle East is now under way at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), drawing leading figures in the aerospace industry from the region and beyond to its halls to see the latest innovations in aircraft interiors and maintenance, repair and overhaul.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chief Executive and Chairman of Emirates Airline & Group, officially opened the event before touring the stands to greet many of the 320 exhibitors.

“It was a wonderful opportunity that Sheikh Ahmed visited our booth, as we are contracted for flydubai uniforms,” said Ayse Melis Yazici, Managing Director of Dress Best. She continued: “AIME provides good opportunities and good contacts in the Middle East, which is important for us as we have offices in Dubai and Jeddah.”

The show expects around 5,000 trade visitors across its two-day run. Today’s opening demonstrated that there is a demand for the event from key industry figures, with attendees from Emirates Airline, Air Astana, Kenya Airways and many more represented among them already.

Of particular interest on display from exhibitors this year were innovative portable IFE solutions from Bluebox Aviation Systems Ltd; industrial aircraft liveries from Logo Sky and bespoke hangar doors from Jewers Doors.; along with many others. Visitors to the show can discover optimal solutions and forge relationships with new suppliers in one place, gaining real value from visiting AIME and MRO Middle East.

“There is a natural demand for MRO services in this region,” said Lydia Janow, Managing Director/Events & Tradeshows, Aviation Week Network. “When you see how airlines in the Middle East are growing and investing, it drives demand for these support services.”

It’s a sentiment echoed by a large number of exhibitors, many of whom choose to exhibit at the show to benefit from exposure to the Middle East market.

“MRO Middle East is a great forum for meeting the regional carriers and the MROs and has always been a successful show for us. We have had some excellent meetings already this morning,” said Jim O’Sullivan, VP Sales & Business Development EMEA at HEICO Aerospace Parts Group.

“The interest shown in AIME and MRO Middle East, both from exhibitors and trade visitors upon opening today, has demonstrated the value of this event to the aerospace industry in the region and beyond,” Said Caryn McConnachie, Aerospace Director of show organisers Tarsus F&E LLC Middle East. “We are thrilled with the response we have received today and are pleased to hear our exhibitors are achieving their objectives here in Dubai.” - TradeArabia News Service
