The fifth edition of the IGN Convention Bahrain, hosted by Tarteeb and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), successfully concluded on October 21.

The gaming convention attracted a large number of visitors from the Kingdom, neighboring GCC countries, and East Asian countries such as Japan and China. The two-day event provided visitors with a number of exciting activities including Factory 13, Fifa, Call of Duty and Overwatch. Additionally, it featured interactive indoor and outdoor games, live performances, and Cosplay competitions, which received a large number of interactions.

Visitors also had the chance to meet and get signed autographs from world-renowned celebrities including Pilou Asbaek, who played the role of Euron Greyjoy in the most watched television series Game of Thrones, the professional American wrestler Oscar Gutierrez also known as Rey Mysterio, and the well-known Japanese influencer Shams Qamar.

“Due to the success achieved in the previous year, we are delighted to have collaborated with Tarteeb as a strategic partner and showcase the ability of Bahraini youth. The fifth edition of the IGN Convention Bahrain has witnessed a tremendous turnout and we hope to receive the same interaction and more in the coming future,” said the chief executive officer of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

“We aim to host a series of events and activities across the Kingdom, this comes as part of the BTEA’s long-term strategy aimed at developing the tourism sector, which contributes towards the national economy,” he added.

Further commenting on the event, the general manager of Tarteeb, Mohammed Al Muharraqi stated that the gaming convention has attracted a wide audience and many have participated in the games and activities hosted at the event. He also confirmed Tarteeb’s commitment towards hosting events that are of high standard in the kingdom, as they strive to strengthen Bahrain's position as an entertainment hub in the region.

The IGN Convention is considered to be the largest gathering of video game, movie, comics, and pop culture convention in the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted by Tarteeb and its strategic partners and sponsors including the BTEA, Viva Bahrain, Startup Bahrain, Tamkeen, and Y.K AlMoayaad Group. The event held in the previous years attracted thousands of visitors from the kingdom and neighboring GCC countries.

The previous editions of the IGN Convention were attended by world-renowned celebrities including Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad, Hafthor Bjornsson of Game of Thrones, Troy Baker of The Last of Us, and American professional wrestler, Kurt Angel and Booker T. - TradeArabia News Service
