Vistara, Qatar Airways sign new interline partnership

NEW DELHI, August 23, 2017

Vistara, India's fastest growing full service carrier, has launched an interline partnership with Qatar Airways, said a report in Economic Times.

Interlining, also known as interline ticketing and interline booking, is a commercial agreement between individual airlines to handle passengers traveling on itineraries that require multiple flights on multiple airlines. Such agreements allow passengers to change from one flight on one airline to another flight on another airline without having to gather their bags or check-in again.

Together the two airlines will provide the ‘through check-in' facility, enabling customers to get their boarding passes at the first point of departure for all the travel sectors, both domestic and international, and have their baggage checked-in through to their final destination.

"We are delighted to launch our interline partnership with Qatar Airways, through which we will offer a seamless flying experience and international luggage allowance to our joint customers from various cities in India to and from over 150 destinations across the world on a single ticket. Qatar Airways' customers will also now be able to experience 'the new feeling' with Vistara and enjoy the finest hospitality in Indian skies on their domestic connecting flights," said the report citing Vistara's chief executive officer Phee Teik Yeoh.

The latest partnership adds to Vistara's existing interline agreements which includes carriers such as Air France, KLM, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways (ANA), British Airways, and Finnair, among others. - TradeArabia News Service
