Mövenpick Jumeirah Lakes Towers appoints new GM

DUBAI, July 23, 2017

Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers has welcomed Daniel Kaan as its new general manager.

A versatile executive who brings over 16 years of experience to his position, Kaan will continue to grow the hotel’s forefront position within the JLT urban community and surroundings, as well as the regional and international markets.

Speaking on his new appointment, Kaan admitted that he is excited to be returning to Dubai, a city that he has admired. “I am delighted to be back after 12 years to Dubai, a pivotal business centre and impressive leisure destination, it is amazing to see how the city has grown and matured in such a short period of time. Our hotel in JLT has a great reputation and a fantastic location; it is known to provide a casual, relaxing experience, which really fits this part of town. I am sure with the great team in place we will be able to develop this even further.”

A seasoned professional, Kaan joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts at Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam in 2010, having served as the director of food and beverage before being promoted as hotel manager. Most recently, he hailed from Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain where he held the position of general manager since 2014. During his tenure, the hotel was voted as the Best Airport Hotel in the Middle East and his efforts increased the hotel’s profitability while maintaining unparalleled service excellence for three consecutive years.

His early areas of expertise encompassed leadership roles in food and beverage as well as conference service within the InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai, Nairobi and Shenzhen, and with the Grand Hyatt in Beijing.

A Dutch national, Kaan attended Stenden University in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands and the Southern Cross University, Coffs Harbor, Australia where he earned a bachelor’s degree in International Hospitality Management. - TradeArabia News Service
