Egypt eases airspace ban on flights to and from Qatar
CAIRO, June 14, 2017
Egypt has eased its flight restrictions for Qatar, allowing airlines and aircraft not registered in either Egypt or Qatar to use its airspace to fly to and from the Gulf state, said a report.
Qatar had asked the United Nations' aviation agency to intervene after Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt closed their airspace to Qatari planes, allegedly accusing the Gulf state of supporting terrorist groups, according to Reuters.
A ban on flights to and from the opposing GCC countries and Egypt by Qatari carriers remains in force, it said.
