Dubai Culture advances efforts to achieve Dubai 10X objectives
DUBAI, June 6, 2017
Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has initiated an internal Dubai 10X team to conduct series of sessions and workshops to engage its internal and external stakeholders.
The move is in alignment with ‘Dubai 10X’ initiative, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The sessions have been designed to contribute to the Dubai Government’s objectives for the ‘Dubai 10X’ initiative, which aims to position Dubai as a global capital of innovation and place it 10 years ahead of all other cities by making out-of-the-box thinking an institutional imperative for government organisation.
Moza Suwaidan, Dubai 10X team leader and director of projects and events at Dubai Culture, said: “‘Dubai 10X’ is a pioneering initiative that will place Dubai 10 years ahead of other world cities by developing and implementing disruptive solutions. Dubai Culture’s role within the initiative is to harness the power of disruptive thinking to solve underlying challenges and create paradigm shifts in the culture, arts and heritage sectors, while also furthering the UAE leadership’s vision of making Dubai a home to happy, creative and empowered people. To ensure the ‘Dubai 10X’ objectives are successfully met, we are currently dedicating our efforts to engaging our employees, partners and the wider creative community, and encouraging them to contribute their thoughts, ideas and solutions to the initiative.”
Dubai Culture is pursuing inside-out collaborations with start-ups and the wider arts and culture community to facilitate external innovation, and outside-in work that involves engaging the authority’s own employees. The inaugural engagement session was attended by Dubai Culture staff working in core and support business units, and provided a ‘Dubai 10X’ introduction and workshop, revealed the Authority’s plans for contributing to it via alignment with strategic pillars, and invited employees to share their opinions and be part of the Authority’s ongoing plans.
Suwaidan added: “’Dubai 10X’ now forms an important part of our mandates to establish Dubai as a global centre for creativity, enhance the city's cultural identity, and build a solid economy based on knowledge and creativity. Via our series of engagement sessions we will acquire fresh perspectives on the heritage and culture sectors, where Dubai Culture will be making its key contributions to the Dubai 10X initiative. The sessions are part of our overarching ‘Dubai 10X’ programme, which is currently in the ideation phase and will proceed with developing solutions, selecting the best, and then prototyping them to be presented at the World Government Summit 2018.”
In preparation for the World Government Summit and the next 10 years of innovative progress, the authority is open to receiving disruptive ideas and solutions from the public. Dubai Culture 10X team can be contacted through email dubai10x@dubaiculture.ae for submitting or discussing disruptive solutions.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. This authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors. - TradeArabia News Service
