Bahrain Tourism Participates in Germany's Imex Exhibition

A delegation from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) took part in the "Imex 2017" exhibition held in Germany from May 16 to 18.
The exhibition is considered to be the leading event for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice) among the German-speaking countries. Imex 2017 exhibition is an ideal platform for deals and investments, bringing together around 3,500 exhibitors from over 65 countries from around the world, attracting more than 10,000 visitors a year.
BTEA’s participation comes in line with its overall strategy aimed at promoting the kingdom as an ideal destination within the Mice sector. The delegation consisted of a group of Bahrain-based tourism companies who showcased the historical components of the kingdom. The event also portrayed the kingdom’s advanced infrastructure and offering as a unique destination for exhibitions and conferences.
During the event, BTEA representatives held bilateral meetings with several international tourism companies to learn about their experiences in promoting exhibitions and conferences in order to develop ties and further boost the kingdom’s position as one of the main destinations for international events.
"The Mice industry is one of the main growth pillars of BTEA. Our strategy is focused on developing this vital industry which will directly influence the development of the tourism sector in the kingdom. We are keen to participate in such exhibitions in order to position the Kingdom as an ideal destination for events for the European market," said the director of Marketing and Promotion of Exhibitions at BTEA, Fawzi Tolefat.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority aims to promote the tourist offering and infrastructure of the Kingdom with an aim of attracting various international events.
