Lagardere to operate Duty Free shops at Riyadh airport

RIYADH, November 3, 2016

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (Gaca) has signed a contract with Lagardere Alliance to operate Duty Free shops in two of the international terminals of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The contract was signed by Abdul-Aziz Abuharba, director general of King Khalid International Airport, in the presence of Engineer Tariq Alabduljabar, assistant to Gaca president for airports, and the French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Francois Goyet.

Lagardere will operate the Duty Free shops at the KKIA in an area of 1,020 sq m in each terminal.  

Lagardere possesses solid experience in this field and runs Duty Free shops in 31 countries, includeing at the Charles de Gaulle airport in the French capital Paris, said a statement.  

Alabduljabar stressed that Gaca is planning a number of projects for the development of airport facilities in its international and regional airports.   

He said a similar contract to operate the Duty Free shops at King Fahad International Airport in Dammam will be signed soon. - TradeArabia News Service
